The Windemere Ranch Middle School Education Fund is a volunteer run, nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds to supplement our children’s public education. WRMSEF was founded when the school opened and is dedicated to raising funds for two primary goals:
- academic class size reduction to 30 to 1, or less
- funding technology support
Our only fundraiser is the annual donation drive during registration, after which we also collect employer matching funds.
WRMS Ed Fund Update
Jan Virant, President - On behalf on the Windemere Ranch Middle School Education Fund Board and the WRMS students and staff, we thank you for your support!
To date, we have raised $184,000 for the reduction of class sizes and to support technology.
Dave Bolin, Principal- As I am sure you have heard by now, our most recent API score is 950, up 17 points and the highest middle school score in the county. We believe this would not have been possible without your support through your generous donations to our Ed Fund. This year your donations are funding twelve sections (classes), which has brought the average class size in our core classes down to 30 students and reduced the class sizes in many of our math and science classes, as well. The Education Fund is also funding much of our technology support staff, and if the matching funds and eScrip funds continue to come in, the fund will provide needed upgrades to technology hardware and software. Thank you for your support.
Aina Konold, Matching Funds Coordinator - Double your contribution to the WRMSEF by taking advantage of one of your employee benefits. Ask your employer about your company's Corporate Matching Program.
To date, we've already received almost $10,000 in matching gift requests for the following employers: Chevron, Wells Fargo, ATT, Oracle, Cisco, Gap Inc., Macys, Intel, Merck and others.
Based on the employer information you provided during registration, we have an opportunity to triple that amount. Our goal this year is to raise at least $20,000 through Corporate Matching.
Funds in excess of that goal will go directly towards technology support and upgrades. For more information, contact (wrmsefcorpmatch@yahoo.com).

Jenny Visperas, eScrip coordinator - eScrip is an easy way to help us earn more money for our school. When you visit eScrip.com, click #1 Sign Up, and register online, WRMS will receive a percentage of your normal purchases at participating stores and restaurants. Painless, profitable, and of no additional expense to you!
Our parent organization, San Ramon Valley Education Foundation - Primo's Run is coming up on October 11th. Please join the fun by running, walking or volunteering. Don't forget to check out the online auction which is open now at primosrun.com/auction. Proceeds come back to the schools in the form of grant money. All staff members of the District may apply for a grant.
Another opportunity to support the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation is called the Spirit of Danville and it will take place on Thursday, November 12th in Downtown Danville. There will be entertainment, shopping discounts, free food, free drink, door prizes. trolley service to the 3 major shopping junctions in Danville and much, much more! The Spirit of Danville was conceived by Discover Danville, a non-profit serving the merchants in Danville . Admission to the event will be $5 (wristband). $4 of every $5 will go directly to the Ed Fund at your individual school. The Spirit of Danville brought 10,000 patrons to the streets of Danville last year. The difference this year is that instead of sharing the wealth with 30 other charities, the SRVEF and its affiliates will be the sole benefactors. To order wristbands, please e-mail Jan Virant (janvirant@mac.com).
