Geography Bee
Each year thousands of schools in the United States participate in the National Geographic Bee. The contest is designed to encourage teachers to include geography in their classrooms, spark student interest in the subject, and increase public awareness about geography.

Spelling Bee

Red Ribbon Week
Americans began wearing red ribbons in 1988 to honor the memory of U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent Enrique Camarena, who lost his life in 1985 in the war against drugs. Today, red ribbons worn during the last week of October signify that wearer will do his/her part in the fight to rid America of drugs.
